Reme caught us by surprise.  She had none of the normal signs of impending labor.  She obviously thought she was entered in the Kentucky Derby, because she whelped five puppies in less than 45 minutes.  Because of complications related to the speed of delivery, two puppies did not survive, one white female with brindle markings and one tri-color male (he would have looked a lot like his daddy, but he had more white).  You will actually see him in some of the early "group" photos as he lived nearly five days.  We tried everything humanly possible to save him but he was just too tired to keep up the fight.  We do have three gorgeous, very healthy puppies (2 girls, 1 boy), and are very pleased with how they are looking.
