What can I say??? I was so excited to get Ember and now here comes Strider, another gorgeous black and tan male. I wanted to keep Gibson so much and every time we see him, both Bob and I say, "We should have kept him." I keep reminding Bob of how much "fun" it would be whenever Kizzy (his mom) and Trudy (his sister) go into heat, and then Karli too, although with Karli it wouldn't be a major disaster if they had an "oops" litter. Strider has that same wonderful sweet, affectionate, outgoing, and loving personality. And his body is also nice and proportioned, with everything in the right place and looking great!! It was really hard to part with a second Gibson and so I tried not to completely part with him at all. We first had him just two miles away but their young daughter was allergic to his kisses so we had him back home with us for a month. Then, after two months in California, Strider came home to Layton, where I will be showing him in May and June to see how he does. Strider made his show debut on May 19th in Logan, Utah, and earned best of winners both days for 2 points each day. Then he went to Spokane and Coeur D'Alene with me, Zoey and Trudy, where he was winners dog one day for 2 more points. Then, on June 12th, we went to Filer (Twin Falls, Idaho) and Blackfoot for six days of shows. Strider was winners dog five of the six days, going best of winners two of the days and earning his first major. Strider got the other major he needed in Farmington, Utah, on his 10 month birthday to make his championship!! I'm not sure we'll be able to part with him, at least not fully, but we're going to try to find him a forever home so he won't ever have to change families again. He's such a little lover-boy and as smart as can be. He'd be a wonderful obedience and/or agility dog too, because he is really smart and easy to train. He already has his rally novice title after competing for the first time in Denver, then for two days in Boise. He qualified all three times in the ring, and that's with hardly any training time at all!!!
